Day 2 Hamar – Lillehammer – Vinstra
Get to know the city of Hamar in the morning, and especially the Anno Domkirkeodden is recommendable; one of the most beautiful museums in the world (Travel Magazine) and /or the Norwegian Railway Museum. You will get an insight to the growth of Norwegian communities during the 1800s and 1900s. The exhibition links railway history to the development of modern technology. For lunch, you can stop at Rudshøgda. A quick stop in Lillehammer to see the folk museum Maihaugen, visit the Olympic venues, or take a walk on the pedestrian street in the town centre.
At Hundorp we recommend a stop at Dale-Gudbrands Gard, where you have the opportunity to get to know the story of this historic site. This hotel sits among some of the region’s most culturally and historically significant land. Dating back 1300 years, this was the centre of power for a very long time. It is possible to use the ski lift instead of walking up and down hill. Visit the little chapel, shopping and time on your own.
An alternative is to do a boat excursion on the lake Bygdin: Departure from the hotel by car to Bygdin, then take the passenger boat MS Bitihorn across the hill stretch of lake Bygdin to Eidsbugarden.
